For my own work, there are roughly three stages in the process. After completing the preliminary research, I have a general idea. I want to focus on the expression of emotions, and at the same time use the form of diary to depict the same things, but add subtle changes to the picture according to different emotions.

The first stage is to determine painting ideas. For the technique, I chose a moist color to express the texture and fluidity of the bubbles. It also indicates that the toothpaste foam is easy to disappear. Flimsy toothpaste bubbles, like emotions, are discounted. Regarding the choice of color, I consider not using many kinds of color. Let the audience focus on the meaning behind the picture. As for the composition, I choose the first perspective to enhance the sense of substitution and set off the atmosphere to achieve the effect of immersive experience. In terms of immersive art, I've seen an exhibition called 'Water Sirens'. The exhibition is set in a black environment, using different textures of cloth and projection and mirror refraction to create the effect of underwater. The audience is immersed in the art space.

Determines the painting ideas later, I began to practice. Take pictures of your toothpaste foam each day, and then write down your emotions or thoughts on the side of it. Then paint it with watercolor. I was not good at watercolor painting, but I decided to try something I was not good at, including later deciding to paint large canvases. Watercolors are better at spotting colors and adding colors than oil sticks. After you have a small draft, you can choose the ones you like to enlarge into oil paintings. This completes the second stage.

Final stage is a reflection, of finished oil paintings, where do not good. Obviously, my brushstroke changes are too single, and the overall richness and completion of the picture are not good. But I still like this series of works very much. In the later stage, I will continue to improve the techniques, but keep my original intention of creation. In terms of perfecting the technique, I might enrich the brush strokes and create a sense of space.
