In addition to my school practice, the professional activities I participated in in 2020 are the most significant of participating in an online exhibition for the first time.
This is a new attempt to present the work as realistically as possible in the virtual space. Under the epidemic situation, this kind of online exhibition provides a new idea. Not only limited to the epidemic, online exhibitions can break geographical restrictions to the greatest extent and spread more works. Online exhibitions can give artists more opportunities and allow more galleries to see the artist's work.
If there is a chance in the future, I would like to participate more in this kind of online exhibition. Perhaps it is possible to conduct online exhibitions from different perspectives, or even three-dimensional perspectives.
Online exhibitions can provide more opportunities for art activities for emerging artists, especially students who have just graduated from me. Such as co-organizing online joint exhibitions with artists and friends in different regions, or holding individual online exhibitions, inviting gallery managers and curators to discuss online.
Furtherfield: new media galleries(2014) mention Furtherfield exists as both an online and physical space which focuses on digital networks and how new technology and the internet impacts on art, community and beyond. Furtherfield Co Founder and Co Director Ruth Catlow talks about the gallery, its programme and how its focus impacts on their approach to engaging with artists.
Therefore, online exhibitions will become a general trend. It is worth developing.
In addition to the new field of online exhibitions, in terms of professional skills, I am still continuing my usual creative habits. Create a small draft first, record the inspirational ideas in life, and then draw the small draft into an oil painting.
Creating a sketch first can help me capture the inspiration in life in a timely manner, and at the same time, improve the quality of the oil painting. Coupled with the accumulation of small manuscripts, you can take out your own work and read it every once in a while, and there will be new discoveries, such as places that can be modified. Accumulating small manuscripts is also a testimony to my own growth experience.
